An expert in women's workplace dynamics, organizational transitions, and visionary leadership, Vida Khow addresses conferences, associations, and government agencies across the country. Being a successful Navajo woman, she naturally combines the wisdom of her native roots with her vast administrative experience. Vida has taught her innovative ideas to distinguished clients throughout the United States and Germany. These clients include the National Wellness Institute, National Nurses Association, Indian Health Service, National Council of Nurse Administrators, Arizona Association of Community Health Centers, New Mexico Indian Nurses' Association, Autohaus Bernd Behrens, Native Americans for Community Action, and various Indian Health Service and Tribal groups.
Vida holds a masters degree in Health Services Administration from Central Michigan University. After 18 years of nursing, she was appointed CEO of the Winslow Indian Health Center in Arizona. During her nine-year tenure as CEO, Vida pioneered many programs. She established the first Indian Traditional Medicine Program in the Indian Health Services and successfully integrated complementary medicine in an allopathic clinical setting. She also initiated the first Navajo Area Indian Health Service community outreach health promotion program through the use of a Mobile Medical Van. Her powerful work won her the prestigious 1999 American Hospital Association Federal Sector Special Achievement Award for Innovative Leadership. Vida draws upon her own life experiences to teach others how to live in ways that make the best use of their innate personal power and how to fulfill their greatest potential. As a bereaved parent, Vida also reveals a mother's intimate and tender journey to find new meaning after experiencing the death of her son Michael, and how his death opened her to a deeper wisdom - a more joyful, less fearful way of living. Vida offers a wide variety of training programs that are designed to build trust within an organization and bridge gaps between people. Seminars are tailored to meet your organization's specific needs. |
