Billy Rogers is Director of the Native Wellness and Healing Institute, an organization he founded in 2000. Prior to this new endeavor, he was director of Health Promotion Programs at the University of Oklahoma for fifteen years. During that time, he initiated the native wellness movement that has positively affected thousands of native peoples on Turtle Island.
Rogers is a nationally recognized trainer and speaker, having conducted training workshops and presentations for hundreds of native reservations in the United States and Canada. He has developed training materials in the areas of youth self-esteem, sexuality, parenting, community wellness, and leadership. Rogers educational materials and training approaches have been used throughout native country. Rogers is also an adjunct faculty member in the College of Public Health at the University of Oklahomas Health Sciences Center. He has degrees in psychology and public health. In addition to his official duties, Rogers volunteers his time to mentor several youth and adults. As a proud member of the Kiowa Nation, he feels it is necessary to pass teachings on to others. His message is always one of hope, honor, humor, and living life on a respectful and balanced path. Developing a Spiritual Path for Individual and Community Wellness Billy Rogers highlights the importance of effective stress management and a well-balanced spiritual life.
